PMC Certification Level II: Intermediate Metal Clay
Dates: May 16 — May 17
Location: The Bead Studio, 18900 W Bluemound, Brookfield, WI (next to Eclectica).
Details: Intermediate Metal Clay features projects and techniques designed by Irina Miech and recognized by the PMC Guild International. Learn new techniques and skills and create beautiful jewelry in metal clay! Class will meet: Friday 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. & Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Cost: $295 (includes ALL supplies, tools, and the book More Metal Clay for Beaders). Prerequisite: Completion of Level I certification. Class requires tool kit from Level I certification.
 
Wildlife in Need Center
Date: May 31
Location: The Bead Studio, 18900 W Bluemound, Brookfield, WI (next to Eclectica).
Details: Join us for a good cause! On May 31st from 11-2, Indigo the American Kestrel, Winnie the Woodchuck, and Dakota the Great Horned Owl will be visiting the Bead Studio to raise awareness for Wildlife in Need, an organization based in Oconomowoc that is dedicated to helping wildlife. A portion of qualified sales at both the Bead Studio and Eclectica will go toward benefiting the center. Please stop and visit the animals, and help us help wildlife! Bead & Button Beading Kiosk
Dates: June 1 — June 4
Location: Midwest Airlines Center, 400 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI
Details: If you are taking a class prior to the opening of the Marketplace on June 5th, feel free to shop at our kiosk. Beads, tools, and class supplies may be purchased at our beading kiosk located on the 2nd floor of the Hyatt Hotel in the atrium area. Our kiosk will be open from Sunday, June 1 through Tuesday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 4 from 7:00 am until 7:30 pm.
 
Bead & Button show in Milwaukee
Dates: June 6 — June 8
Location: Midwest Airlines Center, 400 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI
Details: Join us in Milwaukee at the Bead & Button show. Shop from our largest show selection with amazing specials and discounts that are only available here! We will be bringing lots of semi-precious stone, freshwater pearls, Czech glass, vintage and vintage reproduction glass beads, PMC supplies, plus so much more! Free gift with qualified purchase as long as quantities last. Registered show attendees can also shop at the Private Shopping Preview on the evening of 6/5/08. Level: Beginning

Class Description:Learn the basics of silver metal clay and how to create simple pendants or bracelet plaques to which images can be applied. After firing and finishing your pieces, a special transfer solution and paper allows you to transfer color or black & white laser images to the surface of the metal. The finished pieces are durable and have a timeless, soft, ethereal look.

Instructor will bring: Images ready to transfer, transfer solution and supplies, and an assortment of pigment powders.

Supply List (for students to bring): Basic Metal Clay supplies: roller, work surface, playing cards or gauge strips for rolling even sheets, X-acto knife, small paint brush, needle tool, oil or balm, small cookie cutters of desired shapes, texturing tools and a minimum of 15 grams of Metal Clay. Also finishing tools: burnisher and scratch brush, sanding papers.

Resin & Metal Clay Charms, taught by Sherri Haab, author of Metal Clay and Mixed Media Jewelry

Level: Intermediate

Class Description: Learn to make simple silver metal clay charms and bead forms. After the metal clay is fired and finished, students will go on to make beautiful mixed media jewelry components. Sherri will teach techniques using resin, glitter and small inclusions to add color and sparkle to your finished metal clay charms and beads. Finished components can then be used in a variety of ways. Make a "sampler bracelet" of mixed media charms or choose a favorite technique perfect for a pendant or pair of earrings. This class will inspire you to look at simple craft materials in a whole new way when combined with precious silver to create designer style jewelry.

Instructor will bring: resin, pigment, glitter and bead cores

Supply List (for students to bring): Basic Metal Clay supplies: roller, work surface, playing cards or gauge strips for rolling even sheets, X-acto knife, small paint brush, needle tool, oil or balm, 28 grams of Metal Clay, 5 jump rings and 5 headpins. Also finishing tools: burnisher and scratch brush, polishing papers.

Optional Supply List (for students to bring):Texturing tools to texture the clay; such as rubber stamps, texture sheets, buttons, lace, etc. Glitter, small beads for inclusions in the resin, additional findings to make a finished bracelet

Fourth International PMC Conference
Dates: July 17 — July 22
Location: Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana
Details: Please visit our booth at the Fourth International PMC Conference in Indiana, sponsored by the PMC Guild. Browse our selection of metal clay tools and supplies, including CZ beads and gems, clay cutters, and our exclusive line of stamps created especially for use with metal clay. We will also be bringing freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones in many different colors and shapes. Prerequisite: Completion of Level II certification. Class requires tool kit from Level I certification.
